Members of the MFC board have the ability to further their professional development and cross-cultural skills.
Who Are We Looking For?
MFC is seeking four individuals to add to our board. We are looking for people with expertise in the following areas: fashion design, finance, non-profit management, marketing, environmental science or activism, disability activism, and the Ghanaian context. Experience in one of these areas is required, and experience in multiple is welcome. MFC values the perspectives of people who approach their work with social, environmental, and racial justice lenses. Candidates can be located anywhere. However, some preference may be given to candidates who are located in the proximity of Boston or who travel to Boston at least once per year due to the current location of the board majority.
The MFC board makes decisions regarding the growth and sustainability of the non-profit organization. Board members are unpaid and ensure that MFC acts in accordance with its mission and bylaws. Board responsibilities are 5 hours per month. Most work occurs by email and WhatsApp. They include quarterly meetings, monthly feedback, availability to communicate with the acting directors on a biweekly basis, and when possible, an annual in-person board meeting.
